How Chaplaincy works

How Chaplaincy works

You probably know that there are Chaplains in hospitals, the armed services and sports clubs as well as prisons and schools. What’s less well known is that there are also Workplace Chaplains who visit businesses, whether in retail, manufacturing, services or local government in order to offer support to the people who work there.

Chaplains are people who are motivated by their personal faith to really care for all people in their communities, whether of any faith or none. Chaplains are not there to preach at you but instead enjoy supporting, listening to and encouraging people in all their ups and downs, their sorrows and their joys.

A chat with a Chaplain provides a safe way to explore all sorts of issues, whether spiritual or not. While Chaplains are not there to offer formal counselling, they are good at signposting people on to other services where necessary.
